Job Requirements
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds

Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Culinary arts courses, certifications or related degree preferred
- Two to four years of experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
- Confidence in cooking skills and abilities
- Attention to detail
- Strong people management and communication skills
- Proven leadership and effective verbal and written communication
- Flexibility and adaptability to change
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Internal motivation and passion for teaching others
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Control the day-to-day culinary operations of the venue within company policies and guidelines
- Maintain a professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and uniform standards
- Maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of all dishes prepared and sold
- Establish procedures and timeframes for conducting inventory, determining minimum and maximum stocks
- Ensure the security and proper storage of food and beverage products, managing inventory and minimizing waste
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is operational and cleaned regularly, and kitchen areas comply with sanitation and health requirements
- Resolve employee conflicts, irate customer issues, and incorrect stock orders efficiently
- Motivate and rally staff during busy shifts, ensuring tasks are completed
- Interact with guests to resolve service issues courteously
- Ensure consistent product and service standards of the highest quality
- Control back of house food costs through proper ordering and inventory review
- Communicate cooking standards and methods clearly to staff and customers
- Maintain a safe working environment to reduce injury risk
- Organize and maintain schedules for work, shipments, and cleaning
- Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, motivate, and discipline team members
- Provide ongoing training and lead by example, mentoring new staff
