Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, hospitality management or related field preferred
- 5-7 years of kitchen management experience
- valid Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit as required
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with MS Office software
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- experience in budgeting and cost control
- ability to manage and mentor a diverse culinary team
- commitment to maintaining high culinary standards and guest satisfaction

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant or events venue
- demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs
- professional appearance and presentation
- knowledge of and skill in using computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- working knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
- ability to obtain and maintain certification in nationally recognized sanitation program
- technical proficiency with food preparation methods
- ability to interact positively with diverse personalities and communicate effectively
- ability to train, evaluate, motivate and counsel staff
- ability to distribute responsibility and meet objectives
- problem solving and decision-making skills
- detail oriented and able to multitask
- able to work independently and in team environment
- flexible schedule including nights and weekends
Job Duties
- Manage, develop and mentor culinary staff
- initiate employment actions such as hiring, firing and disciplining
- provide ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to event staff
- promote a positive and cooperative workplace environment
- enforce procedures and provide constructive feedback
- control food costs through portion control, inventory rotation and purchasing procedures
- control labor costs by effective scheduling and cross-training
- ensure food quality, consistency and presentation meet company standards
- supervise kitchen line setup, preparation and breakdown
- coordinate maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment
- manage delivery and setup of catered services and food areas
- arrange and manage staff skills training and orientation
- maintain positive, compliant employee relations
- ensure compliance with health, sanitation and safety regulations
- manage kitchen record keeping, food inventories and invoicing
- organize staff schedules and ensure uniform compliance
- promote teamwork and goal setting among staff
- oversee production of staff meals ensuring quality and timeliness
