Job Requirements
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
- Certification in food safety such as ServSafe
- Ability to manage and mentor a large culinary team
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for athletes
- Ability to work flexible, event-driven schedules including nights and weekends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent high-level culinary experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Strong background in wellness-focused, performance, or athletic dining preferred
- Expertise in from-scratch cooking, recipe development, and menu engineering
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire culinary teams in high-performance environments
- Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and food trends relevant to athletes
- Demonstrated success in managing budgets, food cost, and labor efficiency
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- ServSafe Manager certification or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Manage, develop, and mentor culinary staff including hiring and disciplinary actions
- Ensure event staff understand workplace expectations and provide ongoing training
- Control budgeted food costs through effective purchasing and inventory management
- Schedule kitchen staff efficiently, ensuring labor cost control and break compliance
- Oversee menu development, food quality, consistency, and production processes
- Supervise kitchen setup, prep, and breakdown activities
- Coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and catered service delivery
- Arrange and manage culinary training and orientation for new employees
- Maintain positive employee relations and handle staffing and evaluations
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Manage kitchen record-keeping, inventory, invoicing, and scheduling
- Promote teamwork and leadership through effective communication and goal setting
- Oversee production of staff meals ensuring quality and timeliness
- Provide overall leadership of the culinary program aligned with athlete nutritional needs
- Collaborate with nutritionists and medical staff on menu alignment
- Uphold food safety and sanitation standards, including ServSafe and HACCP protocols
- Ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Act as a hands-on leader working alongside the team
