Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years kitchen management experience
- Ability to manage and mentor a team
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficiency with MS Office software
- Current Food Handler’s card
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to maintain professional presentation and appearance
- Certification or willingness to obtain sanitation certification
- Experience with food cost and labor cost control
- Ability to conduct staff training and performance evaluations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant or events venue
- Demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Knowledge of and skill in using computer software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Maintains current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- Working knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
- Verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to train, motivate, and evaluate staff
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Flexibility to work variable schedules including nights and weekends
Job Duties
- Manage and mentor culinary staff including hiring, firing, and disciplining
- Provide training and ongoing support to event staff to promote a positive work environment
- Control food costs through portion control, inventory management, and waste reduction
- Schedule kitchen staff effectively to control labor costs and ensure compliance with break documentation
- Develop menus and oversee food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
- Supervise line set-up, preparation, and breakdown activities
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment and delivery of catered services
