Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience
- Demonstrated ability to meet projected food and labor costs
- Professional appearance and presentation required
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- Ability to obtain and maintain sanitation certification
- Experience with employee scheduling in hospitality

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years kitchen management experience in a full service events venue
- Demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Knowledge of and skill in using computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government
- Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
- Technical proficiency and experience in food preparation methods
- Ability to interact positively with diverse personalities including co-workers, subordinates, guests and purveyors
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Ability to develop results-oriented staff through training, evaluation, motivation, coaching and counseling

Job Duties
- Managing, developing and mentoring staff of 35 full-time and part-time culinary employees including initiating employment actions such as hiring, firing and disciplining
- Ensuring event staff awareness of workplace expectations and providing ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to promote a positive and cooperative workplace
- Ensuring budgeted food percentages through portion controls, kitchen timings, inventory rotation, purchasing and waste control
- Controlling labor costs through effective scheduling, cross-training and monitoring break documentation
- Ensuring purchasing and preparation of food products meet company standards of quality and consistency
- Developing menus and ensuring quality, consistency and style of concept
- Monitoring food preparation to meet recipe specifications, portion controls and kitchen timings
- Monitoring all food served for appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards
- Supervising line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Delegating tasks to line personnel
- Coordinating storage, maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment
- Coordinating delivery and set-up of catered services
- Managing kitchen staff skills training and development including orientation
- Providing leadership and support to encourage staff morale and empowerment
- Maintaining a positive and compliant employee relations climate
- Handling staffing, training, evaluation and counseling of kitchen staff
- Promoting support and communication within staff and with front of house personnel
- Problem solving and ensuring compliance with health, sanitation, safety and employment regulations
- Maintaining proper kitchen record keeping such as food inventories and invoicing
- Organizing work schedules and ensuring compliance with uniform policy
- Promoting teamwork through communication and goal setting
- Leading by example to manage quality and service
- Overseeing production of staff meals ensuring timeliness and nutritional value
