Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years of kitchen management experience
- current Food Handler's card
- alcohol service permit if required
- proficiency in MS Office
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to manage a diverse team
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to obtain and maintain sanitation certification
- experience in budgeting and cost control
- leadership skills for staff development
- problem solving and organizational abilities
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years kitchen management experience in a full service events venue
- demonstrated record of meeting projected costs
- professional appearance and presentation
- proficiency with computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
- experience with employee scheduling in hospitality
- certification in nationally recognized sanitation program
- technical expertise in food preparation methods
- strong communication and active listening skills
- ability to train, evaluate, and motivate staff
- problem solving and decision making capabilities
- ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- self-directed with teamwork orientation
- flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours
Job Duties
- Manage, develop, and mentor a culinary team
- initiate employment actions including hiring, firing, and disciplining
- supervise daily kitchen operations and event support
- ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and labor regulations
- control food costs through inventory, purchasing, and waste management
- develop menus maintaining quality, consistency, and style
- coordinate kitchen equipment maintenance and catered event setups
- train and evaluate staff, promoting teamwork and positive workplace culture
- oversee food preparation meeting recipe specifications and portion controls
- maintain kitchen record keeping and administrative tasks
- organize employee scheduling and ensure uniform compliance
