Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant kitchen management experience
- Valid Food Handler's card
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Proficient with computer software including MS Office
- Ability to obtain and maintain sanitation certification
- Experience in employee training and mentoring
- Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance
- Capacity to handle stressful situations and problem solve
- Ability to manage labor and food costs
- Commitment to a positive, cooperative work environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5-7 years kitchen management experience in a full service events venue
- Demonstrated ability to meet projected food cost targets
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Possess current Food Handler's card and alcohol permit if applicable
- Knowledge of employee scheduling in hospitality
- Certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
- Skilled in food preparation methods
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to train, evaluate and motivate staff
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Flexible to work nights, weekends and long hours
Job Duties
- Manage a culinary staff of 35 full-time and part-time employees including hiring, firing and disciplining
- Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to event staff
- Control food costs through portion control, inventory management and purchasing procedures
- Develop and maintain menus ensuring quality and consistency
- Oversee food preparation ensuring recipe compliance and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen setup, prep and breakdown activities
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation and safety regulations
