Job Requirements

  • Four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Knowledgeable of industry's best practice procedures
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs including Excel and Word and restaurant POS systems
  • Ability to interact positively with supervisors, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote teamwork and maintain a professional approach
  • Ability to produce a high volume of work accurately, completely, and on time
  • Establish a network of farmers, suppliers and vendors

Job Qualifications

  • Four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • Knowledgeable of industry's best practice procedures
  • Working knowledge of computer software including Excel and Word, and restaurant POS systems
  • Ability to promote teamwork and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Ability to produce high volume of high-quality work in a timely manner
  • Established network of farmers, suppliers and vendors

Job Duties

  • Schedule and coordinate the work of chefs, cooks and other kitchen employees to assure economical and technically correct food preparation
  • Approve or perform requisition of food products and supplies
  • Ensure high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety in kitchen areas
  • Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and theft
  • Implement training programs for safety, sanitation, and accident prevention
  • Develop standard recipes and techniques to assure food quality and minimize costs
  • Consult with sales coordinator regarding food production for special events
  • Ensure proper staffing for maximum productivity and quality
  • Control food, food costs and inventory
  • Evaluate food products to maintain quality standards
  • Collaborate with food and beverage management to exceed guest expectations
  • Evaluate products for quality, price and consistency
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedule for kitchen equipment and areas
  • Develop seasonal menus with local ingredients and work with beverage manager
  • Provide training and professional development for kitchen staff
  • Review and approve invoices
