Job Requirements

  • Culinary experience of at least three years in a supervisory role
  • Experience working in a multi-unit hotel or conference environment
  • Exposure to Latin or traditional steakhouse cuisine
  • Ability to train and lead kitchen staff
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Manager Food Safety certification within 30 days of employment
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications

Job Qualifications

  • Three years culinary experience as a manager or sous chef in a multi-unit hotel or conference center
  • Experience with Latin and or traditional steakhouse cuisine preferred
  • Culinary internship apprenticeship or degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of culinary applications such as ChefTech or similar desirable
  • Manager Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position

Job Duties

  • Recruit interviewing training coaching discipline and conducting performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Create staff schedules and approve employee time off and shift changes
  • Assign train support and direct kitchen staff to maximize efficiency and maintain property standards
  • Coach develop and provide feedback to kitchen staff for career growth
  • Research create and execute seasonal menu items
  • Oversee kitchen sanitation and address any concerns
  • Manage kitchen inventory procurement stock and maintain par levels
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager to improve food quality and selection
  • Oversee financials related to labor food cost and other kitchen expenses
