Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of culinary management experience
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Experience managing inventory and financials
  • Experience working in hands-on, fast paced high volume environment
  • Experience managing a team and developing future leaders
  • Experience facilitating training
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift
  • Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport objects weighing up to 30 lbs repeatedly and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work around warm to very warm temperatures in the kitchen

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of culinary management experience
  • Experience managing and writing prep lists
  • Experience managing inventory and controlling financials
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in managing teams and developing employees for leadership roles
  • Experience in facilitating and executing training
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to stand and walk for eight to ten hours per shift
  • Ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of safety certification requirements
  • Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Preferred culinary degree or certificate
  • Preferred experience in upscale scratch kitchen concept
  • Preferred prior front of house management experience

Job Duties

  • Accountable for operational excellence in the kitchen
  • Delegates tasks and gives direction to all kitchen staff
  • Conducts interviews with kitchen management and staff candidates
  • Selects, orients and continually develops all Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
  • Prepares work schedule for Sous Chef and kitchen staff
  • Ensures safety certification requirements for all kitchen staff
  • Manages inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials
  • Responsible for health inspections
  • Supervises and facilitates all training for food prep and menu execution
  • Ensures proper timing and production for food orders
  • Conducts performance appraisals for Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
  • Enforces kitchen staff dress code standards
  • Maintains all product quality standards
  • Maintains expected food costs and inventory
  • Oversees or completes all prep lists and ordering guides
  • Completes opening and closing checklists
  • Oversees maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facility
  • Works proficiently at all kitchen stations
  • Provides a clean and safe environment for Team Members and Guests
