Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to A.S. degree or related experience required
- Minimum five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Proven experience in high volume and complex foodservice environments
- Ability to train and lead kitchen staff effectively
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Strong organizational skills for inventory and production management
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and email
- ServSafe certification beneficial
- Must be able to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment
- Willingness to engage in client satisfaction activities
- Ability to comply with company policies and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Five plus years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Extensive catering experience preferred
- Experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations
- Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking
- Hands-on chef experience
- Comprehensive understanding of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and Internet
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
Job Duties
- Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
- Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety, and sanitation
- Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas
- Maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies to stay within established guidelines
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
