Job Requirements

  • Education level of associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Hands-on experience as a chef
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Competence in managing food cost and labor budgets
  • Ability to lead and empower kitchen staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer skills
  • Commitment to client satisfaction and service excellence
  • Availability to comply with safety guidelines and performance standards

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • Extensive catering experience preferred
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
  • Hands-on chef experience required
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends including quality, production, sanitation, and cost control
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, email, and internet
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
  • ServSafe certification highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Lead daily culinary production including meal preparation, food quality and presentation, and safety compliance
  • Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
  • Provide direction on menu development, incorporating seasonal ingredients
  • Monitor produce and meat for freshness
  • Conduct inspections to maintain product consistency in seasoning, portion, and appearance
  • Research customer preferences and develop menus with local foods and flavors
  • Prepare and cook foods for regular service and special functions
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques to staff
  • Supervise cooks and food preparation workers
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Set performance standards and monitor team performance
  • Communicate and enforce safety procedures
  • Monitor quality of raw and cooked food products
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
  • Participate in business strategy development aligned with company mission
  • Manage department expenses including food cost, uniforms, and equipment
  • Implement purchasing and receiving control procedures
  • Analyze financial and operational data to adjust plans
  • Develop and manage department budget
  • Identify revenue and expense opportunities
  • Control food cost and labor expenses
  • Oversee food inventory and purchasing
  • Schedule staff based on volume forecasts
  • Provide training and resources to maximize team engagement
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude
  • Improve service through coaching and feedback
  • Support above-and-beyond customer service behaviors
  • Empower employees to deliver excellent service
  • Promote genuine hospitality and teamwork
  • Seek opportunities for customer experience improvements
