Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent culinary education preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years executive culinary management experience
- Experience in upscale hotel or specialty restaurant environments
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Union experience preferred but not required
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience as an Executive Chef in upscale hotels or specialty restaurants with high-volume banquets
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends and regional cuisine
- Experience with kitchen operations management and regulatory compliance
- Ability to create innovative menus and adapt to changing guest preferences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Union experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Direct and oversee all culinary operations including food production, quality, safety, and sanitation
- Create and implement new menus and individual menu items based on food trends and regional tastes
- Interact with guests and clients to monitor satisfaction, address issues, and make improvements
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and department systems
- Develop and monitor team member performance through supervision, professional development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition
- Recruit, interview, and train culinary team members
