Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience as an executive chef or in a similar senior culinary role
  • strong culinary skills with an ability to prepare diverse cuisines
  • leadership and team management experience
  • proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and budgeting
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in the hospitality or health service food service industry preferred
  • cooking competency and knowledge of international and domestic cuisines
  • experience with computer programs including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • knowledge of menu writing, costing, and wage control
  • practical and theoretical background in all kitchen operations
  • effective leadership style with positive, outgoing personality and strong listening skills

Job Duties

  • Set a superior standard for the provision of a high-quality dining experience
  • launch company-standard menus in an efficient and timely manner
  • cater special events as needed
  • ensure meal and event presentations are consistent, prompt and appetizing
  • plan and purchase all food items necessary to prepare meals according to the current menu
  • effectively lead a kitchen staff by inspiring confidence and motivating high performance
  • support the dining team professionally, fostering a respectful and valued employee environment
  • ensure all back of house personnel are properly trained
  • assure consistent coverage of shifts as needed
  • adhere to food sanitation and storage policies and procedures
