Job Requirements

  • At least eighteen years of age
  • Experience in senior housing or related field preferred
  • Leadership, training, and supervision skills
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Completed formal culinary or food service training or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to send, receive, and forward email
  • Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable with exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors
  • Good health verified by recent physician screening
  • Freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis
  • Criminal background clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Formal culinary, food service or restaurant training or equivalent supervisory or management experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in senior housing or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, training, and supervision skills
  • Proficient in written and oral communication
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage email communication
  • Active and able to perform physical tasks required by the role

Job Duties

  • Oversee culinary department to ensure consistent five-star service
  • Ensure food preparation meets culinary standards and portion control
  • Develop seasonal and staple menus based on resident preferences
  • Manage training, supervision, and communication within the culinary team
  • Maintain safe and sanitary kitchen conditions
  • Collaborate with management and staff to enhance dining experiences
  • Participate in Manager on Duty weekend rotation
