Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a culinary training program
  • Minimum of 5 years culinary management experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to work in a stressful environment and make decisive judgments
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Physical ability to perform bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods
  • Compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a culinary training program
  • Minimum of 5 years culinary management experience
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety management
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills
  • Ability to develop menus and standardized recipes
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change

Job Duties

  • Orient, train, coach, discipline and evaluate kitchen staff
  • Monitor and enforce staff compliance with HACCP and departmental guidelines related to requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food as well as sanitation and maintenance of work area
  • Review menus and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared
  • Develop standardized recipes for the preparation of all foods
  • Prepare and/or direct the production of meals to ensure service level standards and objectives are met
  • Work collaboratively to determine food preparation schedules and objectives
  • Coordinate across departments and with external vendors/personnel to facilitate catered and special events
  • Participate in the development of departmental budgets
  • Assist with development and implementation of policies related to production, purchasing, sanitation and inventory management
