Job Requirements
- Culinary degree preferred
- three to five years of culinary management experience
- high volume production and catering experience
- previous experience managing cost controls
- willingness to learn and grow with the company
- A.S. degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience depending on formal degree or training
- extensive catering experience a plus
- experience with high volume, complex foodservice operations
- hands-on chef experience
- comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends
- experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Email, and the Internet
- willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification highly desirable

Job Duties
- Manages cost controls and expenditures for the account
- plans and creates all menus
- purchases and manages inventory
- rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with marketing and culinary team
- leads daily culinary production including meal preparation, food quality, safety and sanitation compliance
- creates decorative food displays and provides direction on menu development
- supervises and coordinates kitchen staff activities
- ensures compliance with health and safety standards
- provides guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members
- monitors food quality and consistency
- maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- participates in business strategy development aligned with client’s mission
- manages department expenses and budgets
- analyzes financial and operational information to adjust plans
- schedules staff according to forecasted volumes
- creates resident satisfaction through training and team engagement
- handles guest complaints and improves customer service
- leads team meetings and establishes goals
- solicits employee feedback and addresses concerns
- provides tools, training, and ongoing feedback
- coaches and counsels staff to achieve performance objectives
