Job Requirements

  • Possess a 2-year culinary degree or a minimum of 5 years' related experience in a supervisory role
  • possess extensive food and beverage knowledge within the food service industry
  • possess the ability to effectively and professionally engage, interact and collaborate with residents and associates
  • have excellent communication skills
  • multi-lingual skills a plus
  • be a customer-focused, proactive and creative problem-solver
  • have a servant-leader mentality and good management skills
  • work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • computer-savvy
  • able to learn and work effectively with new technologies
  • SERVSafe certification preferred
  • be willing and able to take and pass a drug screen
  • be willing to consent to and able to pass a criminal background screen

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Hire, train, manage and develop food preparation staff and kitchen utility workers/dishwashers
  • determine work schedules and work assignments
  • oversee the preparation, presentation and quality of food
  • ensure cleanliness of dining services work area and proper storage of food
  • inspect and maintain storage rooms, utility rooms and other areas of the dining department, and maintain equipment and supplies
  • assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety standards
  • ensure that dining services team members follow Universal Precautions, established safety rules, fire and disaster procedures and departmental policies and procedures
  • respect resident confidentiality
  • monitor dietary services and maintain records to ensure that residents' dietary needs and requests are met
  • responsible for inventory control and purchasing (e.g., food, equipment, supplies) in accordance with the budget
  • participate in the development of the food services department budget and forecast with the General Manager
  • manage the budget
