Job Requirements

  • culinary arts degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience in culinary leadership
  • serve safe certification or obtainable within 90 days
  • knowledge of food prep and health regulations
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work independently
  • physical ability to perform job duties including lifting
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • excellent team leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • degree in culinary arts preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience leading a fine dining experience
  • serve safe certification or ability to become certified within 90 days of hire
  • basic knowledge of food preparation procedures
  • understanding of dining room service etiquette and health department regulations
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • self-motivated with ability to work independently

  • physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift up to 40-50 pounds, and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • craft menus that are fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor designed specifically for independent living seniors
  • lead a passionate team committed to excellence
  • delight residents with meals from comforting classics to inventive seasonal creations
  • ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and work areas
  • conduct routine safety and sanitation inspections and report findings
  • develop and maintain food service quality objectives and standards
  • prepare monthly food service reports
  • manage food and supply expenses to budget
  • place and manage orders for food and supplies
  • plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct food and beverage services operations
  • recruit, orient, train, and evaluate culinary services staff
  • oversee culinary services schedule including holidays and special events
  • support catering services for community programs and private resident events
  • maintain daily logs of kitchen equipment temperatures and food holding standards
  • ensure a 72-hour emergency food and water supply as per regulations
  • uphold confidentiality and promote community values
