Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 48 months restaurant management experience or 96 months related experience without degree

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute culinary solutions supporting OU campus dining
  • supervise and develop staff including recruiting, hiring, firing, communicating job expectations, training, and performance evaluations
  • manage operational functions of the production area including menu review, trend research, and ongoing variety implementation
  • schedule employees and work with dietician
  • enforce sanitation and departmental policies
  • actively create and sample recipes to enhance standard menu cycles
  • prepare food items for servery
  • cater events outside normal working hours
  • control purchases and inventory by collaborating with departmental leads and evaluating usage reports
  • focus on leadership, relationships, financial performance, productivity, and compliance
  • plan, develop, and execute recipes and menus considering nutritional analysis and dietary restrictions
  • establish and enforce standards for food preparation and presentation
  • modify work procedures and recipes to meet nutritional benchmarks
  • ensure food quality through daily inspection and tasting
  • stay current with industry trends and develop new concepts
  • maintain visible presence interacting with staff and customers
  • revise standardized recipes to incorporate new products or procedures minimizing waste
  • participate in purchasing, inventory, storeroom improvement, and equipment maintenance
  • ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • mandatory additional training and possible travel
