Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred
  • minimum of 7 years experience in culinary management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting
  • demonstrable ability to lead and motivate a diverse culinary team
  • proficiency in menu design and food costing
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • valid food handler's certification
  • physical ability to endure long hours on feet and manage kitchen environment demands

  • Proven experience as an executive chef or in a senior culinary leadership role

Job Duties

  • Plan and direct all food preparation and culinary activities
  • design, develop, and implement innovative menus, daily specials, and banquet offerings with emphasis on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes and set plating standards
  • conduct ongoing market analysis to align menus with trends and preferences
  • oversee and manage day-to-day kitchen operations and back-of-house functions
  • manage inventory, ordering, and purchasing of food, beverage components, and kitchen supplies
  • estimate food and labor costs, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures
  • negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and local suppliers
  • manage kitchen equipment maintenance and schedule repairs
  • lead, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff
  • oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling
  • conduct performance reviews and provide coaching
  • ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • conduct inspections of operational areas
  • develop and implement kitchen policies and procedures for workflow and inventory management
