Job Requirements
- At least 8 years of culinary experience in banquet, hotel, private club, or convention center atmosphere
- Serve Safe certified
- Strong orientation to customer service
- Ability to meet required budgetary goals
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of local health codes and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in computer software relevant to food and beverage operations
- Ability to work standing for long hours and move around the facility regularly
Job Qualifications
- At least 8 years of culinary experience in banquet, hotel, private club, or convention center atmosphere
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to collaborate with facility staff
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet budgetary goals
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and complete multiple tasks efficiently
- Creative with food presentations while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of local health codes and HACCP sanitation standards
- Serve Safe certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, catering software, scheduling, product ordering, inventory management, and POS software
Job Duties
- Ordering, receiving, and preparing all food items
- Maintaining food costs and budget goals
- Producing required product according to Banquet Event Orders for each event
- Developing proposals for potential clients, including tastings for larger plated events
- Entertaining prospective clients through Chef's tastings
- Reporting daily event costs to the Food & Beverage Director
- Maintaining an active role in the local hospitality community and professional associations
- Attending event-related meetings and coordinating with other departments
- Developing and costing menus for banquets, concessions, and other projects
- Maintaining cleanliness and annual maintenance of all kitchen equipment
- Participating in promotional media events to promote the facility
- Hiring and training all kitchen and stewarding staff including Serve Safe and health department regulations
- Managing culinary and stewarding personnel to meet labor and production objectives
- Providing oversight and direction to retail production and delivery
- Maintaining a Health Department score of 90 or higher
- Maintaining daily contact with the Director of Food & Beverage and other staff
