Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • two to four years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff
  • ability to carry or lift up to 75 pounds
  • ability to move safely in kitchen
  • ability to handle food and utensils safely
  • ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel
  • ability to withstand temperature changes
  • flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • culinary arts courses or related degree preferred
  • two to four years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff
  • experience with inventory and food ordering in high-volume kitchen

Job Duties

  • Control day-to-day culinary operations within company policies
  • maintain professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and uniform standards
  • maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of all dishes
  • establish inventory procedures and stock levels
  • ensure security and proper storage of food and kitchen inventory
  • maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness according to health standards
  • resolve employee conflicts and customer issues
  • motivate and support staff during busy shifts
  • provide consistent product and service standards
  • control food costs through ordering and inventory management
  • communicate standards and cooking methods clearly to staff
  • ensure a safe working environment
  • maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
  • create and manage work schedules and shipments
  • recruit, interview, and hire kitchen staff
