Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- five years supervisory experience in food service
- experience in hospitality, country club, or senior living industry preferred
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to manage budgets and control costs
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to train and develop staff
- flexibility to work various shifts and respond to community needs

Job Duties
- perform responsibilities consistent with the community's operating and service philosophy
- maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- monitor key measurable indicators of daily operations
- implement established policies and procedures and standards of performance
- help develop in-service training and ongoing staff training
- participate in departmental and community meetings and projects
- maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
- attain and maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting standards
- administer, plan and direct food service department activities
- control costs and manage department budget
- implement policies and procedures for menu formulation, food preparation and service, purchasing, sanitation, safety, and personnel utilization
- select, orient, and coach kitchen staff
- schedule food service personnel to optimize quality service and profitability
- ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
- monitor, evaluate and maintain food purchasing and inventory
- coordinate interdepartmental activities and consult management on food service matters
- supervise food preparation and service workers
- consult with physicians and dietary specialists to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions
- formulate menus for special diets
- inspect meals for conformance to prescribed diets and standards
- consult with Executive Director to ensure menus conform to nutritional standards and regulations
- respond to special needs of residents
- emphasize safe food handling practices
- work closely with Dining Room Manager and corporate food and beverage team
- promote and support Genuine Hospitality Program
