Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Four years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace
  • Ability to create marketing strategies and promotional menu items with Chef to increase business volumes
  • Must have a positive attitude at all times and serve as a leader on the hotel’s Leadership Group

Job Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • Four years of experience in culinary or food and beverage area with degree
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary workplace language
  • Positive attitude and commitment to leadership
  • Experience in marketing strategies and promotional menu development

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the development and enhancement of the food product presented to guests
  • Maintain quality of food product and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards
  • Lead and develop culinary staff through selection, training, and performance management
  • Supervise and coordinate food preparation activities in the kitchen and banquet facilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing and receiving control procedures
  • Manage department controllable expenses including food cost and supplies
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain quality products at reasonable prices
  • Provide direction for menu development and food presentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and employment laws
  • Control profit and loss by managing kitchen operating expenses and setting margins
