Job Duties
- maintains responsibility for day-to-day operation of the kitchen
- develops and implements procedures to ensure that all work practices meet or exceed established standards and goals
- communicates daily with General Manager for updates and changes
- leads shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests
- maintains standards for food quality, presentation, handling, sanitation and safety
- assists in the selection, supervision, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff
- monitors food and labor costs and schedules team members according to business demands
- conducts daily inspection of refrigerators, storage, and food lines for cleanliness and proper sanitation
- prepares and manages creation of new menu items
- ensures attractive and consistent presentation of food items
- handles customer requests and complaints in a timely manner
- establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with team members
- manages day-to-day food and beverage operations ensuring quality and customer satisfaction
- supports F&B leadership in team and performance management
- handles escalated guest problems and complaints
- participates in employee interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisal
- solicits employee feedback and uses an open door policy
- participates in training staff on menu items and attends relevant meetings
