Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering, institutional services, mall food courts
  • Proven culinary leadership in hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Ability to manage unionized teams
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols
  • Ability to develop menus and adhere to brand standards
  • Availability for mid-shift scheduling including every 3rd weekend rotation and rotating holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in food or culinary services
  • Proven culinary leadership experience in hospital or large-scale acute care settings
  • Extensive knowledge of menu development, food safety, and retail brand standards
  • Strong leadership skills managing large frontline teams and union environments
  • Demonstrated patient-first approach focused on customer service excellence

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage hands-on kitchen operations focusing on food safety and culinary excellence
  • Lead and mentor a team of 70 union client employees fostering a culture of accountability and customer service
  • Oversee patient dining services including At Your Request (AYR) and the EAT retail dining concept
  • Manage high-end catering services for both on-site and off-site events
  • Spearhead the transition of the hospital café into a Starbucks brand location launching in February 2026
  • Drive brand innovation and culinary vision in a healthcare environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety protocols and retail brand standards
