Job Requirements

  • Serv Safe Certification within the first available class scheduled following employment
  • Maintain certification through duration of employment
  • Valid food handler's card required
  • 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience or culinary degree preferred
  • Ability to work a minimum 40-45 hours per week
  • Open availability for up to 3 special events per semester
  • Compliance with all scheduling and time management protocols
  • Ability to stand and walk over two-thirds of the time
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs under one-third of the time
  • Dependability and ability to maintain composure in stressful environments
  • Attention to detail
  • Cooperation and good-natured attitude
  • Problem sensitivity
  • Ability to judge quality and quantity of raw and cooked items
  • Must wear a clean GHC Blue Embroidered chef coat while in the kitchen
  • Ability to perform duties at other worksites if necessary

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience and/or culinary degree preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions communicated in English
  • Knowledge of compliance software
  • Experience with inventory management software
  • Skilled in using Greek House Chefs App
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen tools such as blenders, broilers, convection ovens, knives, deep fryers, and slicers
  • Strong coordination and monitoring skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with chefs and students
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Ability to teach and instruct others
  • Strong negotiation and social perceptiveness skills

Job Duties

  • Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
  • Plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
  • Modifies menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
  • Assists in recruiting and managing kitchen staff
  • Manages employee's schedules and hours
  • Manages the GHC App
  • Ensures cleanliness of kitchen meets and exceeds health and equipment cleaning standards
