Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience
  • culinary degree preferred
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals communicated in English
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage schedules and budgets
  • capacity to work minimum 40-45 hours per week
  • flexibility for special events
  • commitment to following health and safety standards
  • proficiency in using kitchen management software
  • ability to maintain professional appearance and conduct

Job Duties

  • Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
  • plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
  • modifies menus or creates new ones that meet quality standards
  • assists in recruiting and managing kitchen staff
  • manages employee schedules and hours
  • manages the GHC App for menu and budget submissions
  • ensures kitchen cleanliness meets GHC health standards
  • conducts inspections of food quality, cleanliness, and employee appearance
  • coordinates training activities and addresses deficiencies
  • follows training manual procedures for equipment requests
  • develops recipes and portion specifications
  • creates and submits menus two weeks ahead
  • submits weekly budgets via GHC App
  • reviews app reports with Campus Manager
  • attends monthly food committee reviews
  • maintains a professional appearance with required chef coat
  • works minimum 40-45 hours weekly
  • receives and inspects deliveries
  • plans and attends up to three special events per semester
  • maintains professional relationships with vendors, directors, and clients
  • works with management on service procedures
  • manages scheduling and time management for kitchen staff
  • adheres to GHC handbook and protocols
  • prepares for transfer to other worksites if needed
  • performs additional duties as assigned
