This role of Culinary Team Leader is a pivotal position within Driftwood Hospitality Management’s hotel operations. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the culinary team, overseeing all kitchen operations across various culinary areas including Banquets, Outlets, In-Room Dining, Staff Cafeteria, and Stewarding. With a focus on creative menu development using local and seasonal ingredients, the Culinary Team Leader will drive revenue through innovative culinary concepts and thoughtful food presentation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Extensive experience in culinary operations and high-volume catering
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical duties for an eight-plus hour shift
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage multiple culinary areas simultaneously
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Experience in high-volume catering with hotel top brands and fine dining
- Proven leadership and managerial skills supporting colleague growth and interdepartmental teamwork
- Current knowledge of culinary trends and active pursuit of personal culinary development
- Creativity and strong customer service skills with ability to energize diverse culinary teams
- Financial planning abilities including data analysis and strategy implementation
- Familiarity and support of corporate programs
- Experience with media and promotional venues
- Computer literate
Job Duties
- Lead and mentor the culinary team to ensure high-level execution
- Develop and implement creative menus for outlets and catering focusing on revenue growth
- Oversee daily kitchen operations including banquets, outlets, in-room dining, staff cafeteria, and stewarding
- Maintain food and beverage standards with standardized recipes and safe food handling practices
- Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and implement strategic promotional initiatives
- Prepare weekly schedules, set staffing levels, and monitor productivity for balanced service and profitability
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations and respond to food-related feedback
