Job Requirements

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification by first day of work
  • Obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days if not current
  • Demonstrated business and financial skills in foodservice
  • Strong culinary and recipe development skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to foodservice management
  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler permit or ServSafe certification
  • Demonstrated business and financial skills in foodservice industry
  • Creative and appealing recipe and menu development skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling software
  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts preferred or equivalent experiential qualification
  • Minimum three years of culinary leadership experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage culinary operations and food service production within the facility
  • Oversee food production staff including training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure adherence to system recipes and menus for patient meals, retail, and catering
  • Specify and coordinate procurement and inventory of food products
  • Manage chef and cook staffing models to align with labor budgets
  • Maintain compliance with safety, sanitation, and temperature standards
  • Collaborate with Nutrition Services Manager on human resources functions and budget management
  • Participate in patient rounding and community events
  • Introduce new culinary products and trends to leadership
  • Utilize computerized menu and production management systems effectively
