Job Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 years of relevant culinary, food and beverage experience
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
- At least 4 years of professional experience in culinary or related industry
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the primary language(s) used at the workplace
- Must be capable of creating marketing strategies and promotional menu items
- Must have a positive attitude and demonstrate leadership as part of the hotel’s Leadership Group
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to create marketing strategies and promotional menu items
- Positive attitude and leadership ability
- Capacity to communicate effectively in the primary language used in the workplace
Job Duties
- Responsible for the development and enhancement of the food product presented to guests
- Maintain quality of food product and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards
- Work in support of team goals and measure effectiveness through Food and Beverage profit and service performance
- Participate in long range planning
- Select, train, and develop personnel
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Reward and discipline employees
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Oversee departmental matters related to employment laws
- Review staffing levels to meet guest service and operational needs
- Supervise and coordinate food preparation activities
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
- Develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
- Establish performance, budget, and team goals
- Communicate and enforce safety procedures and monitor compliance
- Manage department controllable expenses including food cost, supplies, uniforms, and equipment
- Work with vendors to obtain quality products at competitive prices
- Provide direction for menu development
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor
- Improve service through coaching and feedback
- Interact with guests for product and service feedback
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- Control profit and loss elements
- Manage kitchen and restaurant operating expenses
- Set margins and manage business against projections
