Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years culinary leadership experience in high-volume, full-service environments
  • Skilled in culinary techniques and kitchen management
  • Experience in financial performance management and budgeting
  • Knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance including Title 22
  • Ability to pass physical exams, background checks, and clearances as per DSS licensing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and professional email communication

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of culinary leadership experience in high-volume, full-service environments
  • Fine-dining, luxury hospitality, or senior living experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and team leadership
  • Proven ability to manage financial performance including labor and food cost management
  • Working knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Title 22 experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and professional email communication

Job Duties

  • Design, execute, and continuously refine seasonal menus, daily specials, and resident-informed offerings
  • Ensure menus meet dietary needs and comply with Title 22 and food service regulations
  • Maintain awareness of culinary trends, techniques, and best practices
  • Oversee all back-of-house operations including execution, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Manage food and labor budgets, monitor costs, inventory, purchasing, and waste reduction
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships for quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Partner with Culinary Director on financial planning
  • Lead BOH staffing functions including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Foster a professional kitchen culture rooted in mentorship and collaboration
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and labor compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Title 22 regulations and health department standards
  • Maintain food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation practices
  • Conduct regular line checks, kitchen inspections, and documentation reviews
  • Collaborate with community leadership on surveys, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned
