Job Qualifications
- Culinary arts degree
- ServSafe certification
- Knowledge of HACCP
- Five years of chef experience in high volume settings such as restaurants, country clubs, catering, or cultural venues

- Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills
- Financial management and merchandising capabilities
- Ability to remain flexible in fast-paced environments
- Computer proficiency in basic office functions
- Knowledge of sustainability and conservation practices
Job Duties
- Interview, hire, evaluate, reward, and progressively coach kitchen personnel as appropriate
- Develop culinary training programs and serve as culinary resource
- Train kitchen staff in safe operating procedures and food production principles
- Assist General Manager with sales forecasts
- Direct and coordinate production and dish room staff work
- Maintain positive relationships with client staff
- Manage employees following labor laws
- Maintain clean, safe, organized work environment
- Uphold company policies and procedures
- Ensure memorable guest service experience
- Supervise inventory for food and beverage areas
- Prepare standard and gourmet food items
- Monitor cooking and holding temperatures
- Establish maintenance schedules and facilitate equipment repairs
- Plan menus based on trends and nutritional factors
- Inspect quality of food preparation and sanitation
- Order food products and manage vendor communications
- Evaluate raw and finished food quality
- Implement sanitary practices and comply with food safety regulations
- Process vendor invoices
- Manage culinary operational functions
- Control food cost and waste
- Prepare operational reports and analyses
- Analyze sales and inventory
- Manage payroll and controllable profit
- Schedule staff according to budget and forecast
