Job Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Hands-on chef experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet
- Ability to participate in client satisfaction programs
- Compliance with health and safety regulations
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Availability to engage in team building and employee training activities
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Extensive catering experience is a plus
- Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations
- Institutional and batch cooking experience
- Hands-on chef experience
- Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality and cost controls
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Lead daily culinary production including meal preparation and quality control
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- Provide direction on menu development and seasonal specials
- Manage food sourcing ensuring freshness and quality
- Conduct inspections to maintain product consistency
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods for regular and special functions
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and supervise kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Provide guidance and monitor staff performance
- Communicate safety procedures and enforce regulations
- Monitor quality of raw and cooked food products
- Manage food purchasing, receiving, and storage
- Participate in development and implementation of business strategies
- Control department expenses including food and labor costs
- Analyze financial and operational information to adjust business plans
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Schedule staff based on forecasted volumes
- Create 100% resident satisfaction through training and engagement
- Maintain professional attitude and appearance
- Improve service by coaching and feedback
- Support exceptional customer service and teamwork
- Lead team meetings and set performance goals
- Implement strategies to support team engagement
- Provide necessary tools and training for staff
- Communicate expectations and provide ongoing feedback
- Coach and counsel team members to achieve objectives
