Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred or associate degree with equivalent experience
- Minimum five years experience as Executive Chef in hospitality
- Current ServSafe Certification required
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to maintain budgets and control costs
- Experience managing kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Associate degree with equivalent combination of five years' experience as Executive Chef acceptable
- Minimum of five years experience as an Executive Chef in the hospitality industry
- Current ServSafe Certification
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets and inventory effectively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Proven ability to create innovative menus
- Experience in staff hiring, training, and supervision
Job Duties
- Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
- Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
- Use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes within budget
- Understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for Food & Beverage department
- Review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients, supply chain issues, and cost changes
- Maintain strong and positive relationships with all vendors
- Interview, hire, train, and supervise culinary and food & beverage staff
- Work with Executive Director and administrative staff to maintain customer satisfaction and department of health survey levels
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment are conducted
- Confirm food policies and procedures are being practiced
- Manage control of food preparation focusing on limiting overproduction and waste
- Oversee accurate daily records maintenance
- Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff in food preparation and quality service
- Ensure front of house and back of house staff collaborate effectively
- Work closely with Marketing and Activities personnel to meet resident special needs and coordinate unique events
- Meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Advise management of any concerns regarding residents
