Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred or associate degree with equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years experience as Executive Chef in hospitality
  • Current ServSafe Certification required
  • Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to maintain budgets and control costs
  • Experience managing kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Associate degree with equivalent combination of five years' experience as Executive Chef acceptable
  • Minimum of five years experience as an Executive Chef in the hospitality industry
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and inventory effectively
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Proven ability to create innovative menus
  • Experience in staff hiring, training, and supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
  • Assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes within budget
  • Understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for Food & Beverage department
  • Review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients, supply chain issues, and cost changes
  • Maintain strong and positive relationships with all vendors
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise culinary and food & beverage staff
  • Work with Executive Director and administrative staff to maintain customer satisfaction and department of health survey levels
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs for kitchen equipment are conducted
  • Confirm food policies and procedures are being practiced
  • Manage control of food preparation focusing on limiting overproduction and waste
  • Oversee accurate daily records maintenance
  • Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff in food preparation and quality service
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff collaborate effectively
  • Work closely with Marketing and Activities personnel to meet resident special needs and coordinate unique events
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
  • Advise management of any concerns regarding residents
