Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality management or related field preferred
- minimum of 5 years experience in a senior chef role, preferably in a similar restaurant setting
- proven leadership and management capabilities
- strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- excellent palate and creative culinary skills
- ability to manage budgets and control costs
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with kitchen management software and tools
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Evaluate local tastes and develop recipes to reflect and enhance local character and interest
- meet and exceed each guest's highest expectations for delivery, presentation and taste
- cultivate a following of regulars
- professionally develop relationships with regional suppliers and maximize use of regional ingredients
- be familiar with regionally available ingredients, varieties, seasons, etc.
- professionally develop relationships with regional and national chefs
- professionally develop a management team
- professionally develop kitchen line and utility staff
- develop and manage processes for kitchen service that integrate back of house and front of house into a seamless operation
- develop and oversee processes for kitchen organization, cleanliness and maintenance
- collaborate with and supervise kitchen staff regarding menu development, kitchen operations and maintenance
- oversee all hiring and training of back of house staff
- approve hiring and termination of all employees
- write weekly kitchen schedules to ensure sufficient staffing for each meal period
- generate documents for all human resources actions for the back of house team and deliver completed documents to human resources
- administer all back of house management and employee reviews
- control costs by monitoring and evaluating food, labor and operating expenses
- meet with vendors to purchase new items and explore the best pricing
- constantly seek improvement in self, staff and restaurant
- read guest surveys and adjust accordingly as issues arise
- assist events department with winning business, providing service and driving revenue
- work closely with the sales and marketing team to market the restaurant brand through various media channels
- be current and comfortable with utilizing social media platforms to promote and benefit the property
