Job Requirements

  • Valid Food Handlers card
  • ServSafe Food Safety Manager certificate preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Executive Chef or equivalent roles
  • Proven leadership in culinary operations
  • Ability to develop and mentor culinary staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or equivalent role
  • Strong culinary expertise in fine dining and upscale casual dining environments
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards
  • Experience with menu planning and recipe development
  • Ability to manage departmental budgets and financial reporting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with nutritional software systems is preferred
  • Commitment to supporting a positive workplace culture aligned with PRS values

Job Duties

  • Champion Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) culture by ingraining mission, vision, and core values into all roles
  • Build strong relationships with residents and team members through empathy and genuine communication
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence in dining venues, especially during key meal periods
  • Lead culinary operations including recipe creation, menu planning, catering, and healthcare cuisine
  • Train, coach, and mentor culinary staff ensuring consistent onboarding and skill development
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and safety by upholding food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards
  • Drive operational and financial performance by managing budgets, controlling costs, and maintaining staffing levels
  • Collaborate with Dining Services Director, Registered Dietician, Corporate Culinary leadership, and outside agencies to enhance dining programs
  • Integrate menu items into MealTracker Nutritional Software System and develop seasonal and daily menus
  • Evaluate team and program effectiveness for innovation and continuous improvement
