Job Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in culinary arts or hospitality management preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an executive chef preferably leading large, fast-paced, multi-outlet kitchens
  • Knowledge of food industry trends, presentation, quality, preparation, menu concept, design, food costing, and people management
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with PR and marketing on campaigns and budgets
  • Flexible schedule with availability for weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays
  • Food handler certification
  • Alcohol awareness certification if applicable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, restaurant POS system, inventory management or procurement software, payroll and timekeeping software, business and accounting software may be required
  • Adherence to health, safety, and labor regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Use experience and knowledge of food industry trends, classics, and seasonal ingredients to create an exciting, innovative, and delicious seasonal menu
  • Lead daily operations with efficiency, integrity, patience, awareness, and compassion
  • Own team leadership, communication, training, development, and problem resolution
  • Provide outstanding service to guests
  • Advocate for the restaurant and create personal guest experiences
  • Develop relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits
  • Ensure food products are prepared and served according to standards
  • Fill in where needed to maintain guest service standards and efficient operations
  • Perform inventory and purchasing responsibilities daily
  • Receive products accurately according to receiving policies
  • Supervise daily cleaning of kitchen areas
  • Meet financial targets while maintaining food quality and service objectives
  • Ensure equipment is in excellent working condition through inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Foster team learning, growth, and collaboration
  • Develop staff in managerial, professional, and food education areas
  • Prepare required paperwork including forms, reports, and schedules timely
  • Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations
  • Schedule labor and maintain labor cost objectives
  • Facilitate ongoing service education through meetings and training programs
  • Interview, hire, train, and appraise employees
  • Address complaints and administer corrective actions fairly according to company policies
