- previous management experience in food service

Job Duties
- prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with public health regulations and sanitation code
- prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus and doctors' orders
- ensure proper food quantity is prepared according to established time schedules
- prepare food for special events as instructed by the executive director
- maintain costs within budgeted parameters
- use proper technique to taste prepared food for quality and palatability
- maintain proper temperature of food during preparation and service and record temperatures
- report hazardous and malfunctioning equipment to the executive director
- recommend improvements in recipes, menus, food production, service, and equipment
- attend workshops, seminars and in-services to stay updated with healthcare changes and maintain professional status
- select and manage dining staff to meet community needs
- assist in scheduling department hours, personnel, and work assignments
- inspect dietary area for compliance with regulations
- develop and use inventory control procedures
- purchase required food, supplies, and equipment
- maintain adequate stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment
- ensure a 72-hour emergency food and water supply according to regulations
- maintain confidentiality of resident care information
- supervise and manage dining department associates' schedules and tasks
- perform other assigned duties
- model company core values as a culture ambassador
- ensure personnel exemplify company core values
- create and drive the sales culture in the dining department
