Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years culinary management experience
- Proven leadership skills
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Associate of Science or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
- Extensive catering experience preferred
- High volume and complex foodservice operations experience desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experience
- Hands-on chef experience required
- Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, email, and internet
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
- ServSafe certification highly desirable
Job Duties
- Lead daily culinary production including meal preparation and food quality
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- Provide direction on menu development and create distinctive seasonal specials
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen staff activities
- Monitor quality of raw and cooked food products
- Control food cost, labor, and other expenses while managing the budget
- Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- Conduct team member meetings and establish performance goals
- Provide training, coaching, and feedback to culinary staff
- Foster exceptional customer service and team engagement
- Handle guest problems and complaints effectively
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with client missions
- Schedule staff based on forecasted volumes
- Ensure employee adherence to safety protocols and performance standards
