Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • ability to lead and manage kitchen operations
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • capability to manage budgets and control expenses
  • experience in staff training and performance management
  • commitment to providing excellent guest service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of culinary or food and beverage experience
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 4 years of experience
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • experience in budget and expense management

Job Duties

  • Lead kitchen management team
  • provide direction for all daily operations
  • supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
  • establish performance, budget, and team goals
  • communicate and enforce safety procedures
  • manage controllable expenses including food cost and supplies
  • participate in budgeting for department
  • ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • oversee menu development and presentation
  • monitor food quality and safety
  • prepare and cook foods for guests and special functions
  • provide excellent customer service and resolve guest complaints
  • lead training and development of kitchen staff
  • administer performance appraisals and employee discipline
  • foster collaborative team environment
  • analyze operational information and solve problems
