Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable culinary leadership role
- ServSafe certified
- Proven ability to manage a team of up to 75 people
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and 12+ hour shifts
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Three years of Sous Chef or comparable experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience with back office and POS systems such as Restaurant 365, Hot Schedules, Micros
- Advanced organizational skills
- Culinary Arts degree or certifications are a plus
- ServSafe certification required
- Strong knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Bilingual skills are a plus
Job Duties
- Coordinate, lead, and direct Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Utility Team Members
- Train and validate all new cooks, provide ongoing training and coaching to existing cooks
- Partner with Executive Chef, General Manager, and Front of House Managers on training and education of all team members
- Ensure 100% recipe adherence by all team members
- Hold team accountable to policies and procedures set forth by American Social
- Implement and maintain strict safety and sanitation standards and overall kitchen organization
- Lead implementation of HACCP plan and ensure compliance by all team members
- Maintain clear communication with Executive Chef, General Manager, and Corporate Chef
- Assist Executive Chef in managing food cost to goal
- Manage controllable food costs effectively
- Assist with culinary back office accounting and scheduling systems
- Perform accurate inventories and communicate food cost issues
- Conduct line and quality checks to ensure food quality and equipment functionality
- Enforce proper image and appearance guidelines including hygiene
