Job Requirements

  • Certification from an accredited culinary institution or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
  • Minimum 3 years of culinary leadership experience in healthcare, hospitality, or senior living settings
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Prior experience with scheduling, budgeting, ordering, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Kind, patient, and respectful attitude towards senior residents and staff

Job Duties

  • Lead the culinary department and oversee all kitchen operations for assisted living and independent living residents
  • Prepare and supervise the preparation of high-quality meals that meet dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Maintain compliance with all regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and infection control
  • Lead and train kitchen staff with professionalism and clear communication
  • Maintain kitchen schedules, including dietary team staffing and shift coverage
  • Collaborate with leadership on menu planning while following recipes and providing variety when appropriate
  • Oversee food purchasing, inventory control, and cost-effective supply management while minimizing waste
  • Coordinate with dining room staff to ensure timely, accurate meal service and positive resident dining experiences
  • Plate meals in an aesthetically pleasing manner and ensure consistency in food presentation
