Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area
  • Ability to lead a kitchen management team
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience managing budgets and controlling expenses
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • Ability to handle guest feedback and complaints professionally

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 6 years of culinary, food and beverage, or related professional experience
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 4 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Strong culinary expertise and knowledge of food preparation
  • Ability to develop menus and control food quality
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing budgets and operational expenses
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and handling standards
  • Ability to coach and mentor culinary staff
  • Proven customer service and guest relations skills
  • Experience with performance evaluations and employee development

Job Duties

  • Lead kitchen management team and provide direction for all day-to-day operations
  • Understand employee positions to perform duties or determine replacements
  • Provide guidance and set performance standards for subordinates
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead and encourage the team
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently
  • Review staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and food preparation workers
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and equipment use to staff
  • Develop and implement guidelines for purchasing and receiving
  • Establish performance, budget, and team goals
  • Communicate and enforce safety procedures and monitor compliance
  • Manage controllable expenses including food cost and supplies
  • Participate in budgeting process
  • Provide direction for menu development
  • Monitor quality of raw and cooked foods
  • Create decorative food displays
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and storage standards
  • Prepare and cook foods for regular and special functions
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support
  • Manage day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations
  • Handle guest feedback, problems, and complaints
  • Empower employees with training and service guidelines
  • Review guest satisfaction data and identify improvements
