Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Culinary Arts preferred
  • associate degree and minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef
  • minimum five years' experience as an Executive Chef within the hospitality industry
  • current ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with back and front of the house operations as needed
  • assist in planning, preparation, and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • use innovation, imagination, originality, and talent to produce menus and recipes that utilize the highest quality ingredients within budget
  • understand and maintain monthly and annual budgets for food and beverage department
  • review and adjust menus to accommodate seasonal ingredients and supply changes
  • ensure purchasing standards and maintain vendor relationships
  • accurately report and submit monthly inventory of food and beverage supplies
  • interview, hire, and train culinary staff
  • manage scheduling, assignments, direction, performance review, hiring and corrective action
  • collaborate with executive director to maintain customer satisfaction and health survey levels
  • ensure preventive maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • comply with dietary needs and food safety policies
  • manage control of food preparation to minimize waste
  • oversee maintenance and production of accurate daily records
  • provide ongoing training to kitchen staff
  • ensure front and back of house staff deliver excellent customer service
  • work with marketing and activities for resident needs and event planning
  • meet with residents and families to ensure satisfaction
  • advise management of resident concerns
