Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in food service environment
- ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certified or willing to complete within 60 days
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Interest in working with seniors
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and fast-paced environment
- Proficient organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to push, pull, squat, bend, and kneel
- Must be mobile to move throughout the community
- Availability for weekend and evening work
- Background clearances as required by regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Culinary or hospitality degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in food service, preferably in senior living
- ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to manage budgets and inventory
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to remain calm and make independent decisions in stressful situations
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Interest in working with seniors
- Strong organizational skills
Job Duties
- Work with the Executive Director to plan and oversee dining services
- Coordinate menus for activities and marketing functions
- Control food cost and minimize food waste while maintaining quality
- Conduct food inventory and ensure inventory control
- Manage monthly budget and expenditures
- Perform daily inspections to ensure sanitation guidelines are met
- Engage with residents during meals through table touches
- Maintain records and communicate dietary changes
- Order raw food and supplies while maintaining quality and variety
- Assist in meal preparation and cover for kitchen staff absences
- Prepare shift schedules for kitchen and front of house staff
- Assist in menu planning for nutritional needs and satisfaction
- Monitor and enforce kitchen cleaning schedules
- Maintain coaching and disciplinary records
- Participate in sales process for potential residents
- Plan menus based on cultural, regional, and dietary guidelines
- Adjust recipes and monitor food quality and consistency
- Oversee portion control and food presentation
- Cook, carve meats, and prepare dishes
- Order and verify food and chemical deliveries
- Conduct regular quality assurance audits
- Ensure safe food handling and loss prevention
- Select, schedule, and conduct staff orientation and training
- Monitor monthly expenditures against budget
- Adhere to company policies and residents’ rights
- Report incidents or accidents promptly
- Foster constructive relationships with coworkers, residents, and families
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Promote teamwork in service delivery
