Job Duties
- Train, develop, and motivate supervisors and culinary staff
- Teach preparation according to well defined recipes
- Provide leadership with a positive work environment and professional management
- Provide direction for day-to-day kitchen operations
- Perform or delegate employee duties as needed
- Set performance standards and monitor staff performance
- Use communication skills to lead kitchen staff
- Advocate sound financial decision making and demonstrate integrity
- Support customer satisfaction and retention through service behaviors
- Communicate and assist individuals to meet guest needs and provide coaching
- Delegate responsibility to develop supervisors and staff
- Review staffing levels for service and financial objectives
- Oversee and execute banquets and events
- Participate in menu development and food costing
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
- Maintain equipment and kitchen standards
- Ensure consistency in food preparation and appearance
- Maintain grooming and hygiene standards
- Ensure kitchen employees have necessary certifications
- Manage purchasing, receiving, and food storage
