Job Requirements

  • A.O.S. degree in culinary arts or culinary certificate
  • minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience
  • experience leading culinary teams
  • extensive catering experience
  • experience with high volume, complex foodservice operations
  • hands-on chef experience
  • proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom
  • willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs
  • flexibility for long hours, early mornings, and occasional weekends
  • ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • ability to perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, and standing for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • A.O.S. degree in culinary arts or culinary certificate
  • minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience depending on formal training
  • experience leading small culinary teams of up to 6 people
  • extensive catering experience
  • experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations highly desirable
  • knowledge of institutional and batch cooking a plus
  • hands-on chef experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • proficient in Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom
  • willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
  • flexible with willingness to work long hours, early mornings, and weekends sometimes required
  • ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 25 pounds
  • able to reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop
  • able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Provide direction for all day-to-day operations of the culinary department and ensure quality and standards meet expectations
  • ensure supplies are ordered, received, and properly stored
  • maintain inventory of supplies and kitchen equipment
  • conduct regular inventory of food items and equipment
  • manage department expenses and review food cost weekly and monthly
  • manage staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives
  • attract, hire, retain, and motivate the culinary team
  • conduct pre-shift meetings with staff to review daily business information
  • handle employee issues professionally and timely
  • review PEOs and assign production and preparation tasks
  • ensure constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling
  • manage food production for corporate meetings, conferences, and events
  • ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced
  • supervise daily setup for menu and adjust work areas and schedules according to anticipated business volume
