Job Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to remain flexible in fast-paced environment
  • Computer knowledge for basic office functions

  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Minimum of five years chef experience in high volume settings
  • Culinary arts degree
  • ServSafe certification
  • Knowledge of HAACP

Job Duties

  • Interview, hire, evaluate, reward, and coach kitchen personnel as appropriate
  • Develop culinary training programs and act as culinary resource
  • Train kitchen staff in safe operating procedures and food production practices
  • Assist General Manager in forecasting weekly and monthly sales
  • Direct and coordinate production and dish room staff
  • Maintain positive working relationships with client staff
  • Manage employees following state and federal labor laws
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Uphold company policies and procedures
  • Deliver SSA EXTRA Guest Service for memorable guest experiences
  • Supervise inventory for all food and beverage areas
  • Direct and participate in preparation of standard and gourmet food items
  • Monitor cooking and holding temperatures
  • Establish maintenance schedules and provide safety training
  • Ensure high quality and consistency of food and plan menus
  • Inspect food preparation areas for quality and cleanliness
  • Place food product orders and communicate with vendors
  • Evaluate quality of raw and finished food products
  • Enforce sanitary practices and food safety regulations
  • Process invoices and ensure vendor payments
  • Manage all culinary operational functions
  • Control food costs and reduce waste
  • Prepare operational reports and make recommendations
  • Analyze sales and inventory data
  • Manage payroll and controllable profit
  • Schedule staff according to budget and forecast
  • Achieve sales, per capita, and budget goals
  • Incorporate sustainable resources into menu selections
  • Promote inclusivity and support within the unit
  • Lead sustainability and conservation efforts
  • Engage in community outreach and hiring initiatives
  • Perform other tasks as necessary
